Co-Curricular - Building Character
|
At Sherborne Boys, we believe education goes far beyond the classroom. Often it is the experiences away from the lessons that are crucial in developing character and equipping boys to flourish. Our full boarding model allows us to offer a rich and varied Co-Curricular programme that helps boys develop key virtues such as resilience, service, empathy, integrity, and respect. What better way to learn about integrity, humility, and perseverance than through overcoming adversity in a sports fixture or in a play, music recital, drama production or on a CCF exercise or learning about service by volunteering in the local community? We also anticipate boys will have great fun and build lasting memories along the way!

A Culture of PossibilitySherborne teachers believe that if a boy shows interest in something, it’s worth encouraging. That philosophy runs through every club and society we offer – from chess to choir, rewilding to robotics. Our Co-curricular programme doesn't just add colour to School life – it shapes character, unlocks potential and prepares boys to engage fully with the world around them. Please take a look at our Building Character Co-Curricular Guide below to find out more.

Trips & Enrichment
Nothing compares to the impact of first-hand experience.
At Sherborne, trips are woven into the Co-Curricular life of the School – enriching the curriculum, expanding horizons and creating memories that last a lifetime.
Curriculum-related trips are carefully timetabled, and societies regularly take their activities beyond the classroom.
Boys might perform jazz in the Caribbean, study Renaissance art in Florence, visit a First World War battlefield, or tour Australia on a rugby tour. These moments inspire reflection, foster independence and fuel a genuine love of learning.
