Virtual Cracking the Code

Online Event - Tuesday 3 February

We are delighted to invite your current Year 5 pupils to take part in our virtual ‘Cracking the Code’ event, to be held on Tuesday 3 February 2026.

“This is only a foretaste of what is to come and only the shadow of what is going to be.” Alan Turing

Alan Turing, one of the greatest minds in modern computing and AI, was a pupil at Sherborne Boys from 1926 to 1931. To celebrate his extraordinary legacy, the Sherborne Schools are hosting this exciting online challenge. The event invites schools to compete in a series of cryptic, code-breaking puzzles—testing logic, teamwork, and creativity—with prizes for both pupils and their schools.

Schools may enter one team of up to six pupils, or two teams of up to three pupils from Year 5. Will your school be crowned the Sherborne Virtual Cracking the Code Champions 2026?

Please RSVP by Friday 23 January 2026 using our RSVP form HERE.

Staff Expertise

Our teaching and support staff bring a wealth of experience across academic, pastoral, creative, and sporting disciplines – and we are always delighted to share that expertise with prep school pupils and staff.

Each year, we offer a broad programme of events, hosted at Sherborne Boys, in schools, out in the community, and online.

Opportunities include:
  • STEAM challenges and hands-on demonstrations
  • Music workshops, masterclasses, and performances
  • Art and DT sessions for pupils and staff
  • Sports coaching, refereeing, and fixtures
  • Preaching and speaking engagements
  • CPD seminars and departmental symposia

Thanks to our close partnership with Sherborne Girls, many of these events are co- educational. We also work closely with individual prep schools to create bespoke experiences. Recent highlights include Cracking the Code, a Modern Foreign Languages Competition, CPD Conferences for Matrons and Art teachers, and our popular Prep Schools’ Choral Day.

To explore how we can work with your school, please contact Louise Smith, Engagement Officer.
