Sherborne Boys hosted the fourth annual Ruth Strauss Foundation Cricket Week in the final week of the Summer Term, continuing a well-established highlight of the school calendar. The festival celebrates cricket across the entire Sherborne Schools Group while raising funds for the Ruth Strauss Foundation, which supports families facing bereavement and promotes cancer research.
We again reached our fundraising target, with the final tally for this year’s event coming in at £5,720.41. This means that, over the past four years, we have raised just short of £19,000 for the Foundation, through match-day fundraising, souvenir brochure and print sales, prize draws, and partnerships with local businesses. MiC Cricket, Hugh Tatham, comments: "I am delighted that we have - again - raised so much money for the Ruth Strauss Foundation through our annual Cricket Week; thank you to everyone who contributed. I am already looking forward to next year!"
As a result of the School’s outstanding fundraising efforts, Sherborne won an exclusive coaching session with a Ruth Strauss Foundation Ambassador at the Indoor Cricket School at Lord's Cricket Ground.
