Ruth Strauss Foundation Cricket Week

Sherborne Boys will host the fourth annual Ruth Strauss Foundation Cricket Week in the final week of the Summer Term, continuing a well-established highlight of the school calendar. The festival celebrates cricket across age groups while raising funds for the Ruth Strauss Foundation, which supports families facing bereavement and promotes cancer research. Last year’s event raised £6,081, bringing three-year total to over £12,000, and this year’s programme aims to increase that total through match-day fundraising, souvenir brochure sales, prize draw, and local sponsorship.
Game schedule and fixtures
The week begins on Sunday 14 June with Abbey House’s ‘Mums and Dads v Lads’ fixture, before matches commence on Saturday 20 June against Blundell’s.
Sunday features Sherborne Prep versus Saltus Grammar School, Bermuda, alongside Sherborne Pilgrims against the 1st XI. Monday hosts a T10 tournament with Dauntsey’s and Millfield.
Tuesday includes the inaugural Sherborne Girls v MCC match and Bow House XI v Sherborne CC T20. Wednesday welcomes Waterkloof High School, with the week concluding on Thursday 25 June with the 1st XI clash against MCC.
Support from local businesses including Hummingbird and Mogers Drewett, enhances the event’s impact. Visitors are encouraged to The Upper to enjoy the cricket, community spirit and hospitality, including ice cream from Ecco Gelato, while supporting the Foundation’s work.
